No one changes the world alone. That truth has never been clearer to me than in this season of purpose-driven advocacy. As I reflect on the path of sickle cell awareness, I see a mosaic of hands, hearts, and voices—interwoven efforts that have helped push the needle, even if slowly, toward justice and healing.
When I think of partnerships that have carried this mission forward, I’m immediately reminded of the impact of organizations like Sick Cells, Honeycomb Health, the Sickle Cell Consortium, and Rare Patient Voice. Each of these allies has played a unique role in advancing our shared vision—from data collection and storytelling to patient-driven platforms and policy advocacy. Together, we’ve begun to shape a movement rooted in both unity and action.
Through Warriors Speak Out, I’ve witnessed firsthand how collaboration changes lives. I’ve shared space with warriors, caregivers, parents, and community leaders. We’ve cried together, learned together, and lifted one another when the weight of this disease felt too heavy to carry alone. These conversations—raw, honest, and deeply personal—have become a cornerstone of our advocacy. They’re not just stories; they’re sparks for change.
And yet, we know this work isn’t finished. There are still countless voices waiting to be heard. Still too many gaps in care, research, and representation. But bridges are being built, one conversation, one collaboration at a time. I believe there is power in the partnerships we’ve already formed—and potential in the ones we’ve yet to create.
This years 2025 E.S.C.A.P.E retreat, hosted by Marc Thomas Foundation for Sickle Cell Disease in TX.
So, I’m asking:
What collaborations do you think could elevate our mission even further?
Are there organizations or individuals you believe Warriors Speak Out should connect with? Drop their names below or email me through the website. Whether it's a community-based group, a healthcare innovator, or even a grassroots warrior-led initiative, I want to hear from you.
Because the truth is, bridges don’t build themselves—people do. And together, we are stronger, louder, and more unstoppable.
Let’s keep building.
