We think we teach our kids about life—how to be strong, how to be kind, how to navigate the world. But if we pay attention, we realize something unexpected: they are the ones teaching us.

My children have shown me that strength isn’t always about being loud or bold.

Sometimes, it’s in the small, quiet moments—the determination in their eyes as they try again after failing, the way they shake off disappointment, the way they face the world with fearless hearts even when they’re uncertain. They remind me that true resilience isn’t just about enduring struggles but about moving forward with unwavering belief in better days ahead.

They have taught me that vulnerability is not weakness but a bridge to deeper connection. That it’s okay to cry, to admit when I’m struggling, to let them see that even warriors have limits. Before them, I thought strength meant carrying everything alone, never letting the cracks show. But my children have taught me that strength also looks like asking for help, like pausing when I need rest, like allowing love to fill in the spaces where exhaustion tries to settle.

They have shown me that healing is found in the simplest of things. In a belly laugh that shakes the whole room. In the way their little hands find mine without hesitation. In the quiet "I love you" whispered at bedtime. Even on my hardest days—when my body aches, when fatigue feels unbearable, when the weight of advocacy and motherhood collide—one hug, one moment of pure joy with them, is enough to remind me why I keep going.

Resilience isn’t just about survival—it’s about finding joy despite the hardships. It’s about choosing love even when life feels unfair. It’s about believing in hope, even when the road ahead is uncertain.

And my children? They are my greatest teachers. In their laughter, I find light. In their love, I find strength. And in their resilience, I am reminded of my own.
